giving up on waste

In the UK, each year, 8.3 million tonnes of food is thrown away by households. This equates to a mountain of leftovers, enough to fill 4700 Olympic-sized swimming pools, says the government's anti-waste arm, Wrap. Of this food, 5.3 million tonnes could have been eaten.
Lent is traditionally a time when people think about giving something up. Giving up on such a high level of food waste would be a good thing for all of us. Here's a helpful website.
