At Hilton Church, there are a significant number of hillwalkers. We had a congregational walk in Torridon in August, and we hope to organise more outings in 2009. Today I went out for a hillwalk with Steve Aisthorpe. Steve is the Church of Scotland advisor for mission and evangelism for the Highlands and Islands (Richard Gibbon's successor). We climbed Meall a Bhuachaille near Aviemore. We had great views across to the Cairngorms. The last time I climbed this hill was about 3 years ago, when I accompanied a youth group from Zwickau in Germany who were visting us at Hilton. It was much colder today! For those who are keen on ski-ing you will see from my pictures that there is a good covering of snow on the slopes at Cairngorm.
