CHURCH RE-WIRING

Hilton Church was opened in 1958, which means that the buildings have been in constant use for over 52 years. Over the years there has been a revolution within society in relation to issues like health and safety, fire prevention and disability access to name just a few! We have been progressively responding to all of these issues and the next step in this process begins next Monday. The whole building is going to be re-wired, with fire alarms and emergency lighting also being installed. This is costing the congregation over £20k. In actual fact this money will be coming out of the relatively meagre fabric reserves that we hold. Hilton Church isn't the kind of church which holds great financial resources. Any future improvements will require raising additional funds from within the congregation, so there will need to be some detailed consideration of this by the Board in the coming months. The buildings will continue to function during the works which are scheduled to take place over the next 3 weeks.
