GOOD NEWS FROM THE SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT

Good news from the Scottish Government today. Hospital parking charges are being abolished. Read about it here. This will save the congregation some money in terms of the parking charges we pay to go and visit at Raigmore Hospital. It will also be good for patients and their families who at the moment incur considerable costs in terms of parking if their relatives are in hospital for an extended period.

Not as good as it looks. Actually according to my parents who work at the NHS it puts lots of people out of their jobs (okay no one likes traffic wardens but...) It removes a source of revenue for the hospital (which will not be replaced), would you like free parking or that drug that saves you? More importantly than any of the above, people will be encouraged to park at the hospital and bring their cars - and so there will be nowhere to park. So people will have to park their cars for free in the none existent car parking places.
Things are not always as good as they look at first glance.
