A Breath of Fresh Air

I saw this piece in Gadgetvicar today. Is this the sort of event that we could perhaps put on at Hilton? What do you think Evangelism Team? We are currently planning a special weekend for the congregation at the beginning of Advent. Would an event like this work in Hilton at the beginning of December?

I was involved in the "Breath of Fresh Air" on Sunday, and it was fantastic - over 400 people coming into the church to get involved in the things we had laid on (eg food, workshops, massages), expressing surprise about how bright and untraditional the interior was, asking questions, talking, or just sitting and reflecting.

Do bear in mind, though, that it was a part of an entire street's worth of activities and events, which was in turn a part of the West End Festival. So there was a ready-made crowd and festival atmosphere laid on.

I doubt the open church would have been anywhere near as successful if it was just a stand-alone event.

I am not a member of the Evangelism Team but I do think this type of event at Hilton would be very good for the local community and hopefully would encourage local people to come and see what is going on in Hilton Church at this period in time.
