This morning we looked at the story of Elijah and the widow of Zarephath in 1 Kings 17. We thought about generosity and welcome to the stranger, and we also thought about the gifts we have to share. The service included an opportunity to write down the gifts we believe we have to offer, and to place them in jars at the front. It was encouraging to see 5 empty jars filled with gifts. I used some of Steve's ideas in creationary and I would love to have used the stations in mustard seed, but the numbers and the space available make it very difficult. By the way, on the theme of strangers, there is a truly remarkable story on Robyn's blog.
