The greed and excesses of the banking system has been referred to in one or two of my sermons recently. For the sake of balance, I'm posting the following link about Leonard Abess Jr., a Miami banker. I think it's worth recording that Banks have also been engaged in some very positive ways. Lloyds TSB paid for the medical centre in Puerto Belen on the Amazon. They also funded the wonderful kitchen that we have in the Lighthouse. The current banking crisis will probably have severe implications for many outstanding projects in Scotland who have been receiving vital funding support from the Banks.
